Leadership.
-
Community.
As a participant in AACTE’s Day on the Hill, I have advocated for our District’s teachers and students to national and local representatives in Washington, DC.
-
Conferences & Presentations.
The impact of shared knowledge is an essential component in my leadership philosophy. Opportunities to present ideas that can grow our students and schools - through collaboration that spans the international education landscape - are prioritized in my professional practice. One way that I demonstrate this is regular attendance and participation in educational conferences where the opportunity to collaborate and increase my capacity for transformational ideas expands exponentially.
-
Grants.
Resources are a component that can help any educator better plan, deliver, reinforce and assess curriculum. Likewise, resources can transform a school site and its abilities to address inequities within and among our schools. I have successfully secured grants for my classroom, as well as collaborative grant writing with a team of educators at our school that has brought in funding for student-centric learning initiatives.
-
Professional Development.
My commitment to education and learning extends beyond my classroom practice. Continuous professional development ensures that my pedagogy and curriculum are always evolving to meet the needs of every student in a committed effort to close the achievement gaps (and educational deficits) that persist in American public education.

Mentorship.
I have been fortunate to benefit from the wisdom and support of seasoned educators throughout my instructional and leadership journey. In turn, I have been equally as fortunate to continue the cycle and assist new educators as they enter the field. The retention of quality educators is important for the success of any school site. Through ongoing support and mentorship I hope to make an impact on the landscape of our school.
